Happy Sunday TueNighters,
This holiday season has me a bit bonkers trying to tie up year-end loose ends with work, shop for Christmas presents, and plan for holiday travel — you? The pressures at this time of year are no joke — especially for (wait for the tie-in to our event….) #1 Daughters! Those of us with many, many responsibilities to care for our family — and our chosen family.
Which is why I’m truly looking forward to a laid-back night on Tuesday, (December 13) telling stories with y’all. We #1 Daughters have a lot to talk about - one of which is the need for community. Going back to our very early convos about this event, many of us are separated by longer distances and spread thinner in terms of time, making gathering more important than ever.
Since many of us are super busy, traveling, all over the country, and maybe just a little reluctant to poke our heads out the door, we designed a hybrid event (with a little TueNight flair, natch). Each storyteller is hosting a small group of friends in her home so there will be a live audience when we come together virtually.
We encourage you to bring your own buds to the online sesh: Invite that friend you’ve been missing (but keep forgetting to text) who lives out of state. Reach out to her and plan a remote date night with us. Invite some girlfriends over and stream the show together over a glass of wine.
I’ll be sharing my story alongside the amazing Ophira Eisenberg from NPR’s Ask Me Another, Omisade Burney-Scott from The Black Girls’ Guide to Surviving Menopause, Kathy Cano-Murillo from The Crafty Chica, Melody Godfred - the Self Love Philosopher, and Mimi Ison from HeyMiddleAge.com. Thanks to our sponsor AARP for helping to make this evening possible.
Looking forward to a chill Tuesday Night vibe and hope to see you there!
xo,
Margit
