Basic bio: Laura is a writer, creative director and the founding naturalist of The Outside Institute, which leads guided walks, foraging classes and wildcrafting workshops in the Catskills and publishes accessible field guides to the region. Her mission is to connect people to the healing and transformative powers of nature and to inspire reciprocity between all beings.
Beyond the bio: For me, being over 40 has meant more freedom, more confidence, more intuitive knowledge, more healing and a greater understanding of my own heart's desire.
What makes you a grown-ass lady? Saying no whenever it feels right is a sign of growth. So is facing down fear, being gentler and caring so much less what other people think.
