May 24th: AMA with Omisade Burney-Scott from the Black Girl's Guide to Surviving Menopause
Get your questions ready...
Our AMAs are casual affairs – we’ll be text chatting right here on The TueNight Social via an open thread, no video – so come as you are (glorious), wear your comfy pants, grab a glass of vino or a hot cuppa tea and spend some time hanging with your favorite Gen-X women.
Meet Our Guest
Omisade Burney-Scott (she/her) is a Black southern 7th generation native North Carolinian feminist, mother and healer with decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, philanthropy, and social justice. Grounded in an analysis of systems of oppression, she has trained extensively in identity politics, intersectionality, and liberatory organizing practices. She is a founding tribe member of SpiritHouse and previously served as a board member of The Beautiful Project, Village of Wisdom, and Working Films.Â
Omisade is the creator of The Black Girl’s Guide to Surviving Menopause, a multimedia project seeking to curate and share the stories and realities of Black women and femmes over 50. She is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, the proud mother of two sons, and resides in Durham.
How to Join
All premium subscribers will have access to the AMA thread to ask questions and share comments on May 24th (in fact, we may open it a day early so you can start posting questions in advance). If you’re not already a paid subscriber, make sure you sign up before the event.
