STORY: The Day I Decided to Clean Up My Hometown 🌏
By Whitney Warne
“As I repetitively humbled myself, bending over to pick up each piece of discarded trash, I found myself contemplating the life cycle of each item. Where did this trash start its journey? How far did it travel to get caught in this particular branch? How were the local animal populations affected? Once I cleaned this stretch of road, how long before it looked exactly like this again? What would my mother say if she knew I hadn’t worn gloves? Who had lost so many pants???”

TUENIGHT 10: Jackie Ghedine
Age: 49.
Basic bio: Jackie Ghedine is a career coach, business strategist, and co-founder of Modern Gen X Woman, a group on a mission to make Generation X the wealthiest female generation. Jackie does this by helping women articulate their value so they can demand their worth. Each week, the Modern Gen X Woman podcast provides insights, ideas, and strategies to support women achieve professional success.
Beyond the bio: My nickname is the Jack Russell of humans because I'm fun, optimistic, and full of energy. When I want something, I sink my teeth in and don't let go until I get it. I believe success doesn't have to mean sacrifice. Fun fact: I'm an only child, married to an only child and we have an only child.
What makes you a grown-ass lady? We've been brainwashed to believe if we work hard we'll get noticed. It's BS and I want to stop perpetuating this myth. As I entered my 40s I also recognized my worth is not determined by anyone else and I don't need external validation to know I'm worthy. I am enough.
Here’s her TueNight 10:
On the nightstand: The Brave Enough by Cheryl Strayed, cup of peppermint tea, CBD Oil, and Peace & Calming Essential Oil.
Can't stop/won't stop: Exercising with the Mirror and listenting to Bob Proctor's Manifestation Meditation
Jam of the minute: Anytime I want to get a jolt of happy energy, The Killers’ Mr. Brightside.
Thing I miss: My dad. He’s been gone almost nine years and I miss him every single day.
'80s crush: John Taylor from Duran Duran.
Current crush: Shemar Moore.
Latest fav find: Obsessed with Harney & Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice tea.
Last thing you lost: My eyeglasses and boy oy boy is it hard to do anything when I misplace them.
Best thing that happened recently: Morning snuggles with my 13-year-old daughter (love she still enjoys this every morning).
Looking forward to: Turning 50 this summer. My life has been amazing and the next chapter will be even better!
Happy Earth Day, TueNighters! Every little action helps.
