TN10: Hatty McCafferty, Certified Menopause Consultant
Host of the podcast Real Menopause Talk
Your Age: 49. (I’m excited for 50 this year.)
Basic bio: Based in South London, Hatty McCafferty is the host of the Real Menopause Talk, a podcast about perimenopause to post-menopause, talking about real experiences and offering real resources.
Originally a TV commercial producer, Hatty completely changed direction to enter the realm of well-being. In true TueNighter fashion, she went all in. She’s qualified as a Hatha yoga Instructor, a Yin yoga Instructor, a nutrition coach, and most recently, a personal trainer.
As her clients began to talk to her about menopause, Hatty felt she needed to serve them better and became a certified menopause consultant. Her goal is to share untapped resources and open up the conversation, to help menopausal women thrive.
Beyond the bio: It turns out my “tequila-self” is actually my true self, it just took me 40 plus years to be brave enough to be me. I love this greater ease of being. I’ve found I am super-selective about the company I keep and I value my friends enormously. One of the best things about female friendship in particular is the lack of BS and launching straight into juicy conversation.
What makes you a grown-ass lady?
What being a grown-ass lady means to me is truly leading by example; I encourage my daughters to learn what and who is worth their time and to make sure they treat people well and people treat them well. Be open, be kind, always be willing to learn, be strong, be kick-ass, and hold your own with grace and humility.
Here’s her TueNight 10:
On the nightstand: So many books, my glasses, and Pulse warming lube and oil dispenser. 😉
Can’t stop/won’t stop: My early morning double espresso…or two.
Jam of the minute: Little Simz “No Thank You”
Thing I miss: Prince
‘80s crush: Rupert Everett
Current crush: Jack Lowden
Latest fav find: Living M skincare. It’s the most luxurious experience my skin has enjoyed since perimenopause began for me.
Last thing you lost: An eyelash.
Best thing that happened recently: Spending time in New York.
Looking forward to: My husband’s 50th birthday.
Thanks so much for the mention! Loving hanging out here - especially to talk about Succession Season 4!! - obsessed.
