Swarm: Warrick Page/Prime Video

Hey there, TueNighters — we’re THRILLED to celebrate the last weekend of Winter (woohoo!) and sliding into Spring with brand new drops on our watch list — LET’S GO!

Here are this week’s picks:

Swarm | Season 1 | Amazon Prime Video: a stalker-thriller series set between 2016-2018 inspired by the Beyhive. From co-creators and executive producers Janine Nabers and Donald Glover, Swarm follows Dre (Dominique Fishback) an obsessed, Houston-based fan who goes to increasingly violent lengths for her favorite R&B singer.

Fun fact: Billie Eilish plays a mysterious young woman in her acting debut as Eva.

Ted Lasso | Season 3 | Apple TV+: it’s been 18 months since we last saw new episodes of the hit series. The winner of 11 (eleven!) Emmy Awards is back with its third season. Co-writer Jason Sudeikis stars as Ted Lasso, an American football coach hired to manage a British soccer team; what he lacks in knowledge, he makes up for in optimism, determination, and biscuits.

Fun fact: speaking of Ted Lasso’s biscuits… there’s a recipe for that.

Marie-Antoinette | PBS: the successes of independent and feminist Marie Antoinette provoke jealousy and rivalry — a fresh take to discover who MA was, what she thought, and what she felt. Far from the usual portrait of the selfish and superficial young queen, discover a modern and progressive woman.

Fun fact: “Let them eat cake!” Nope. According to the series, MA never said it. Or there’s no historical fact available to claim she did. Either way, we’re excited to watch this!

What’d we miss? Is there anything else we should be watching? Let us know in the comments below!

I watched “The Boston Strangler,” which included the trifecta of true crime, mid-century, and women being smarter than men.
