I buy handmade cotton underwear on Etsy! They are thick and fit perfectly and wash beautifully. They are not cheap but I have literally had them for YEARS and it takes forever to retire them! They also come in the most delightful patterns! I wish I could post a photo but the maker sells under “Junkella” on Etsy. Don’t let the price fool you. I have only bought from her and have amassed a great collection and anything else feels flimsy and uncomfortable now!
reading the comments thus far, I'm feeling very insignificant in saying that I buy Gap underwear--the cotton ones. slowly, they are overtaking my old Marks & Spencer underwear -- also cotton, a habit from living in London I kept up on visits for a long time, until I let it go.
My thing with gap is they aren’t what they used to be. When the shift to gap love there are many more open seams and they don’t hold up like they used to
I too am a gap cotton bikini person. Very nice fit, last a long time, don't wedgie, easier to find online than in stores typically. I've worn them for ??decades--Is that possible?
On Gossamer for hot summer days (they literally feel like nothing and feel supportive - there’s some magic there) and the GapBody cotton high-rise bikini. They look like granny panties in the best way, and they don’t move. I had abdominal surgery a couple of years ago and they were my underwear of choice. They feel like a hug.
I'm a Jockey loyalist. And by a loyalist, I mean 20+ years of the same style (Elance cotton briefs)! For fancier occasions, I switch to my other staple -- Gap lace boy shorts.
Lately I am digging the Thirdlove undies which, so far, are the closest to the Gap version I've found (Gap is *always* sold out in my size): https://www.thirdlove.com/collections/underwear

I was today year's old when I learned my bestie gets her undies on Etsy.
😂
I mean, I NEED the cat undies: https://www.etsy.com/shop/Junkella
You’re a godsend. Great idea, I’m off to Etsy!
Thanks a lot, Shelly! Now I bought a pair of…cat underwear with hot pink trim 😂😂😂 #ImpulseShopping
These Negative high-rise briefs are pricey, but honestly worth it to get just one or two (also in heather grey, white, beige): https://negativeunderwear.com/collections/whipped/products/black-whipped-high-rise — I feel happy and heavenly every time I wear them! Pair with a long sleeve whipped cotton shirt and you’ll never want to get dressed: https://negativeunderwear.com/collections/whipped. Just in case it’s helpful, here’s a referral code that will give $20 off: http://fbuy.me/qx0bR
Oh these are so cute!
They really are! I would live in them 24/7 if I could afford to have ten pairs 😂 This colorway is one of my favorites, with a matching whipped sports bra top and the same two-color long-sleeve: https://negativeunderwear.com/products/buff-black-whipped-high-rise
I will treat myself to these when menopause is official
Same, friend. I am back into the "buy only if I don't care if it gets ruined" phase and I hate it.
Huge fan of Negative!

Gap here too but am very curious about other options!
I love Kindly Yours Women's Cotton Hipster Panties — I’ve found only at Walmart.
I also love TomboyX - though the ones I buy are 95% cotton.
Big fan of Uniqlo. Good fit, cute patterns, many style options.

Non-wedgies would make a great brand name, IMHO. 😊
Amazon Essentials. The reviews made me a believer and they've held up great.

ME TOO!!!!
everlane’s cotton bikinis! smooth and light.

Sleepy Jones makes very comfy cotton briefs but they run small so I go up a size or two!
Thanks for the great tip, Stacy!

Jockey fan here, too. Probably the most worn pairs I own.
Yes - tried other brands but still think the Jockey Elance hipster is the best for me, too.
I like the cotton modal panty from Soma. It’s soft, comfortable and breathable.

These have been on my radar, thanks for the tip, M!
I like the Charters brand at Macy's. Of course now you can only get them online now that their stores are closing.
Seconding the TomboyX underwear. I love the boxer briefs--cool, comfortable, no chafing, and lots of cute prints.
