😂 I've never been a big primer gal. My glow-to prep is a light oil (I like The Ordinary Virgin Marula Oil or Natura Brasil) on the cheeks and forehead right after washing and drying my face (while it's still moist) followed by Paula's Choice Essential Glow Moisturizer SPF 30. I'm a sunscreen fiend and this sunblock isn't thick and doesn't leave a white cast. Follow with foundation or a tinted moisturizer.

Hi, Dry skin gal here. Glossier fits my bill! I love it. It's natural, very light (that glow without makeup, i.e., the "naked" look) and I LUUUUR their milk jelly cleanser and daily moisturizer (SPF 35) This is the ONLY skin protectant that feels good and doesn't give that white cast (esp. bad on brown skin!) It feels sooooo good! If I'm getting real fancy, Glossier's Skin Tint gives coverage but you can still see my freckles. They have lots of shades for all skin colors. They hardily ever have sales, but I love this stuff. And the best part is that you can put it on with your hands! https://www.glossier.com/

Ooo Glossier is good. I forgot about that one! It's a tint right?

I have their skin tint and flexible concealer, and I love them for every day. They’re so comfortable to wear, but sometimes I need more coverage.

I rarely wear make up, so anything heavier makes me uncomfortable. But when i want that razzmatazz, Glossier all the way! Who do you like for more coverage?

I love Jones Road products. It’s from Bobbi Brown. It’s a balm and does miraculous things.

Oo I have the balm! It’s great. Have you tried her foundation? I’ve heard mixed reviews

I haven’t! I was using the foundation/balm before it was discontinued on the main line and I loved it but haven’t yet ordered it from Jones!

I don't wear foundation, but am in love with Laura Geller's tinted moisturizer. It gives me a little cover, a nice even finish, and feels like nothing on! https://www.laurageller.com/products/better-than-bare-tinted-moisturizer-with-spf-50

Love a good tinted moisterizer! I am currently using NARS but I have also really like the Tom Ford products but they are always out of my color. I also am a big fan of a primer called Spackle by Laura Geller - it has some sparkle and seems to make whatever you put on on top of it look more "finished"

That’s two for Laura Geller!

Dermologica SkinPerfect Primer is tinted, goes on flawlessly, and smells like lavender. I've been using it for years in place of foundation and highly recommend it. Primer, sunscreen and anti-aging benefits. https://www.dermalogica.com/products/skinperfect-primer-spf30

Primer-wise, Bobbi Brown’s face base is unparalleled for smoothness and moisture. My skin is really dry, and sometimes my skin sucks up liquid foundation, but with a moisturizer and Bobbi Brown, I get a much smoother look and use less foundation.

Have you tried Ilia serum tint or foundation? It’s too “glowy” for me because my face sweats a lot, but it has a great finish and consistency.

I've been curious about Ilia because like Il Makiage it's on my Insta every other post. Bobbi Brown is always great - good one!

Yes on the Ilia Serum Skin Tint -- the coverage is very even and not heavy, and I love the glowy finish. I also have their True Serum Skin Foundation which is more matte and I like that too. I think their products are very good on over 40 skin.

I've been using Elta MD tinted sunscreen for years -- great product. I've also just bought Jones Road (founded by Bobbi Brown) What The Foundation, which is lightweight and not chalky. NO SPF in that one.

I’ve been using One Size for when I need to wear a “whole, every day face” - READ, under eye concealer, light foundation, eyeliner, mascara, and my signature lip.

The concealer is FABULOUS, the foundation glides on like a DREAM, and the setting spray is BRILLIANT!

They’re not crazy expensive, the coverage isn’t heavy, you can get it at Sephora (go in with a naked face and try them out) - I think you’ll dig it!

What I finally found to magically work, is a clean face, patted dry, followed by ROC Deep Wrinkle cream then immediately applying No7 Skin Illuminator. I don't use my fingers, I only use make up sponges that I wash with light soapy water after use. I finally realized that I need moisture UNDER and BEFORE any foundation. It brightens and dews my face up to the point that people ask me what I use. What better proof is that?

It’s not foundation, but just discovered DRMTLGY’s Universal Tinted Moisturizer. It’s a moisturizer with SPF, but *allegedly* it works and blends with all skin colors to give skin the even-tone appearance of foundation. I put it on and it blended right in with my skin tone — it was NUTS. I like it because I don’t wear a lot of make-up, but it gives my skin an even color and protects it at the same time without all the heaviness of make-up.
