I'm so glad to read of the weight lifting obsession! I started lifting at 40, taught by a gifted amateur teacher, and now that I'm 58 and have kept doing it, I really appreciate its long-term effects on my body and my mind and overall health inside and outside. And I'm honored to teach lifting to adults, mostly women. Here is a great online resource for anyone who wants to lift but doesn't even know where to begin. This writer is younger than TueNighters, I think, but so, so smart and helpful. I have no connection to her although I wish I did! Her program "couch to barbell" can help you get started, and reading her articles will inspire you and make you laugh.
