Thursday Thread: Guilty pleasures we won't be giving up anytime soon.
Because life is too short not to enjoy simple, awesome things...
First things first, let's ditch the "guilt" and embrace these as moments of pure happiness where we can truly let go and leave the world behind.
For me, indulging in ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) videos is my ultimate escape. It’s where I kick back, unwind, and experience the tingling sensations triggered by soothing sounds and visuals (like wood soup) that whisk me away to a cozy little world.
I get it, it's not everyone's cup of tea, but hey, that's totally cool!
Now it’s your turn, my friend! Share your "favorite indulgence," whether it's steamy romance novels, cross-stitching, or popping bubble wrap. No judgment, just pure enjoyment!
BritBox. From EastEnders on. There are so many great shows -- especially limited series based on true crime or their female-led copper dramas. Recently finished "Bailey & Scott" and "Unforgotten". Both very good. xo
I try not to feel guilty about the things others judge as trashy or a waste of time/money and try to think of them as “little/occasional pleasures/indulgences”. I don’t feel guilty about loving badly made disaster films or the Marvel cinematic universe. I try not to feel sinful about monthly McDonald’s fries & chocolate shake (yes, for THAT monthly timing), or taking myself out for an expensive meal rather than sock that $100 into savings.
We all deserve to find enjoyment in this challenging world, and these kinds of things offer us that in smaller doses and guilt suggests we should feel shame about them. I’m also trying to lessen the self-judgment I tend towards, and shame just exacerbates that.
