Have you ever taken a peek inside your fridge during the summer and noticed one thing that never seems to run out?
For me, it's an endless parade of condiments — ketchup, mustard, pickles, dressings, and hot sauces galore! I gotta wonder if it’s just a summertime thing. But every time I open my fridge, there they are, condiments for days…
How about you — what are your summer food obsessions you just can’t get enough of?
I was an iced coffee addict but then acid reflux took hold this year and I now have an oat milk latte which somehow is less symptom-triggering. not that you asked for this hearty explanation, but I MISS ICED COFFEE!
I Always have a pitcher of homemade green iced tea year round but in summer I often have either homemade lemonade (real 🍋) or mint/ cucumber water. I get so much mint in the garden so it’s a refreshing treat!
I do two bags of Tazo zen tea and two green tea bags in a quart of hot water. I also add one packet of stevia. I used to use the big tazo iced green tea bags but they don’t make it anymore.
Fruit! Grapes, cherries, watermelon. Our local grocery stores have price wars, so prices allow us to buy smaller quantities multiple times a week so we don't (often) have spoiled fruit on our hands. Next up: stone fruit.
I would have to say Kayak. They make their artisanal ice creams and have a few stores. They create amazing flavors and sometimes have contests to create a new flavor.
When it's too hot to cook, I stock the fridge with hummus, various dips, cut up veggies, cold cuts/cheese. Home made charcuterie boards for dinner=a win. I am also partial to a nice pinot grigio or home made fizzy water (love my Soda Stream and Torani syrups!).
Cucumber and avocado in salads (romaine, right now). Whether it's with honey mustard dressing (seriously, make your own: good dijon and a fine raw honey, mix to taste...that's it!) or olive oil, lemon and salt and pepper, it just sings summer to me all season long! That with shredded chicken breast or grilled salmon 👩🏻🍳💋! And limes. There must be margaritas and Palomas or it's not summer.
Avocado.
ALL DAY, EVERY DAY!!
Oh yes. Always have one on hand
Salted cream cheese with sesame crackers.
Salted cream cheese... BRILL!
That sounds realllly good
Iced coffee.
Same! I keep a chilled brew of coffee in the fridge and freeze coffee ice cubes... iced coffee for days!!

I only drink cup a day, either hot or cold. I avoid caffeine past noon, else I'd be bouncing off walls the rest of the day.
This aging, menopausal shit can bite me. 🤪

What's your recipe for homemade green tea? (I have made some bad batches and would love some tips! :) )

I started soaking my fruit because of this damned TikTok video: https://www.tiktok.com/@sharaemarieee/video/7091428200110148910?lang=en
Does it taste vinegary at all when you do this? I've wanted to try this but nervous it will ruin the taste.
No but banking soda works well, too.
I am obsessed with ice cream and gelato. My favorite flavors are pistachio and tiramisu.
Which are your fave brands?
